March 3, 2009, Dubai. Malaysia’s Takaful Ikhlas Sdn Bhd was chosen as the Best Takaful/Retakaful Provider 2008 by readers of Islamic Finance News (IFN) in a draw held in conjunction with Islamic Finance News Awards 2008 recently.
The award which is now into its 4th year in 2009 was won by Takaful IKHLAS through ballots conducted by Islamic finance industry practitioners and observers through IFN which was produced on every Friday. IFN focus on international finance market and industry.
The Chief Executive Officer and President of Takaful IKHLAS, Syed Moheeb Syed Kamarulzaman is present to receive the award in an award giving ceremony organized by IFN in Dubai tonight. The President/Chief Executive Officer of Takaful IKHLAS, Syed Moheeb Syed Kamarulzaman said, the award received constitute the benchmark of their excellence to-date. Takaful IKHLAS also considers such award as the highest international recognition ever received by the six year old takaful provider.
"The award proves that even though Takaful IKHLAS is a just new company, our products have gained acceptance by the public," he said in a press release by Takaful IKHLAS here today.
He further said that the award received would be treated as the catalyst towards Takaful IKHLAS continuous success in the future thus enabling it to stands tall in the insurance and takaful industry. Syed Moheeb commented that the award launched by IFN was held to recognize companies which have operations that directly or indirectly contribute to Islamic finance institutions.
Syed Moheeb further stressed that the win would provide the best platform for his side to highlight the Takaful IKHLAS brand not only in Malaysia but also at the international level.
"We have streamlined various plans to penetrate the international market in the coming years and as such continuous efforts have been put in place to ensure that these could be realized in this short term. In this respect, Takaful IKHLAS is grateful when it was chosen as the recipient of the award even though our involvement in the takaful industry is still new if compared with the other takaful operators," he said.
Takaful IKHLAS, a wholly owned subsidiary of MNRB Holdings Berhad (MNRB) begin its operations in July 2003. MNRB is listed in the main board of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad where its main shareholder is Permodalan Nasional Berhad through its Amanah Saham Bumiputera scheme.
